According to junk science expert Steve Milloy, celebrity chefs, led by nannies from the Chefs Collaborative 2000, are holding a press conference today at one of Philadelphia’s most expensive restaurants (Le Bec-Fin) to restate their opposition to genetically engineered foods. In an open letter asking these chefs to reconsider their position, enraged leading food scientists write: “Dinner for two at Le Bec-Fin can cost hundreds of dollars…[m]ore than a billion people around the world live on less than a dollar each day… All of these [GE] products are being created specifically for use in developing countries. But opposition from the industrialized world can critically damage our ability to use these techniques to help improve peoples’ lives.”
