Gore won the popular vote (we think). Bush won the electoral college vote (maybe). The Natural Law Party’s John Hagelin won the nanny vote (we’re sure). Don Lovejoy rants about genetically improved food in the Providence Journal-Bulletin, lamenting that Hagelin was the only one to discuss the issue during the campaign. Lovejoy fails to disclose that he is a Natural Law Party member (he ran for Senate in New Hampshire under the party’s banner in 1996) or that the Natural Law Party has a financial interest in disparaging genetically improved foods (Remember Genetic ID?).
