Food First’s Peter Rosset kicks off a week of nanny attacks on the hog industry, which will culminate with Thursday’s “Sustainable Hog Farming Summit,” featuring the Natural Resources Defense Council’s Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and a host of other anti-agribusiness activists. The Union of Concerned Scientists chimes in with its own bit of questionable science in The New York Times. The nannies’ goal, as Rosset says, is to get the public to buy organic, range-fed, family-farmed meat and poultry, or, in other words, to get the public to buy from the people who are helping fund anti-agribusiness campaigns.
