CSPI Goes After Chocolate

Valentine’s Day and Easter Sunday will never be the same, if the nannies can help it. The folks at the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) have set their sights on chocolate, showing once again that they just can’t stand it when the rest of us derive a small amount of pleasure from our food choices. CSPI claims in a recent press release that U.S. chocolate consumption is up 50%, and that Americans “need chocolate like they need pats of butter to swallow between meals.” It’s a sad nanny state where all of life’s little pleasures are parceled out on an “as needed” basis.
