Those are the words used to describe biotech foods by Michigan State University’s Gustaaf A. de Zoeten, in a recent Detroit Free Press opinion piece. “To date,” he says, “there has not been a single verified case of an adverse health effect due to a biotech food or food ingredient.” And, lest we forget, “The reality is that biotechnology is a highly efficient, logical extension of traditional cross-breeding techniques. It’s as old as agriculture.”
