If you read the Center For Consumer Freedom op-ed in USA Today last week, you know that PETA’s Bruce Friedrich has said, “It would be a great thing if, you know, all of these fast-food outlets and these slaughterhouses and these laboratories and these banks that fund them exploded tomorrow.” And you know that the Animal Liberation Front (ALF) and the Earth Liberation Front (ELF) are domestic terrorist organizations.

Now, U.S. Representative Scott McInnis (R-CO) has asked the House to subpoena ELF spokesman Craig Rosebraugh to testify at an upcoming hearing on ecoterrorism. McInnis, who asks environmental groups to denounce ALF and ELF, said if Rosebraugh will not appear, he could be charged with contempt of Congress. Rosebraugh responded by calling ELF terrorists “brave” — apparently for setting fires and committing firebombings — and saying members of Congress are “some of the most extreme terrorists in history.”
As Christopher Horner of the Competitive Enterprise Institute writes: “There is no shame in believing that those among the Left who most profess their ‘caring’ for animals, the environment, and other non-human ’causes’ are simply anti-people.”
