No Choice But To Sue Soda

“I don’t want to sue them. I have no choice.” This is how diet book author Julia Havey describes her reason for suing Coca-Cola for promoting soda with – gasp! – sugar.

We’ve grown (sadly) accustomed to activists suggesting that there is no room for personal responsibility when it comes to choosing the foods we eat — as if restaurants and food producers were literally shoving food down our throats. But this is a new low. It would seem that Havey not only lacks the responsibility to say no to non-diet soda, but also lacks the responsibility to just say “No!” to filing a totally frivolous lawsuit.

Then again, Havey just happens to be hawking her just-released fad diet book The Vice Busting Diet. But that is probably just a coincidence.
