With Christmas coming and Hanukkah here, the anti-consumer choice crowd is doing what they do best — telling you what to do. The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), an animal-rights front group with a history of close financial ties to PETA, has issued a “top ten” list of holiday gifts — such old-fashioned, traditional seasonal fare as tomatoes, noodles, and organic soup — while denouncing “infamous sausage-and-cheese packs.” Like Dr. Seuss’s Grinch, roast beast is a feast PCRM can’t stand in the least.
The Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) takes things a step further, actually advising shoppers on what to eat during those busy pre-holiday shopping trips. CSPI, the folks who ruined Chinese food for everyone, now says stick to steamed rice at the mall food court.
