It appears that the terrorist Earth Liberation Front (ELF) is branching out into anti-war politics. Police in Santa Cruz, California are searching for criminals who vandalized 65 sport utility vehicles on a dealer lot last week. Some nearby residents reported that their SUVs and trucks were hit as well. In addition to a variety of Saddam-apologist slogans, some of the graffiti included references to ELF.

Santa Cruz Police Lt. Joe Haebe speculated in Friday’s San Francisco Chronicle about just who might be to blame:

It may have been ELF, but then, I sometimes get them confused with ALF, the Animal Liberation Front. And then there’s Earth First! and PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). There’s a lot of cross-pollination between them, and some people here are probably members of two of those groups, or more.
