A recent broadcast of the German television show “Panorama” included a lengthy feature about People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and its most recent anti-meat project, the universally condemned “Holocaust on Your Plate” campaign. Among other things, the show featured PETA Germany campaign director Harald Ullman arguing for the abolition of seeing-eye dogs.
Asked in the show’s closing moments to sum up his group’s goals and its impact on society, PETA “ambassador to the stars” Dan Matthews pulled no punches, saying: “We are not going to be stopped. Some think that we are leading a war. And they are right; it’s exactly like that.” [German language links]
