Last week, PETA’s front group, the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), ran the appalling advertisement below in The Express, a free commuter newspaper distributed on the metro-rail system by the Washington Post.
Given the scourge of frivolous medical malpractice litigation, how could any doctors’ group encourage more lawsuits? That’s not a real concern for PCRM, which admits that only five percent of its members are doctors. By trying to make an example out of a physician who recommended the Atkins diet, the animal-rights nuts at PCRM have merely given the world one more example of — in the words of the American Medical Association — its “unethical tactics.”
