Poultry People Press Pocomoke With Propaganda

As reported in The Daily Times of Salisbury, Maryland (June 18): “The chicken industry held its 53rd annual Delmarva Chicken Festival in Pocomoke City [Maryland] over the weekend, but not everyone was having fun. For the 10th year, United Poultry Concerns set up a booth on the perimeter of the festival to offer their perspective on chicken. ‘There’s nothing to celebrate,’ said Karen Davis, the group’s spokeswoman. ‘We are here to represent an alternative view of the chicken industry and the festival’. . .” When asked about Davis’ antics, a Daily Times newsroom reporter commented that “she’s down here making noise an awful lot, and is kind of a good source of entertainment.” (link unavailable)
